The graduation course is a compulsory course in the academic program of the Accounting major, Accounting – Auditing specialization. Completing the graduation course is a process that gives students additional experience and opportunities to work in real businesses, while demonstrating their ability to apply theory to an in-depth and broad analysis of an issue of theoretical and practical significance in their field of study. Students apply the body of knowledge acquired in the academic program to solve a specific scientific problem, in which they put forward one or more systems of arguments of their own and use appropriate methods to find evidence to support those arguments. In addition, writing a thesis in this course helps students refine their methodology, approach, and methods of analysing, synthesising and evaluating issues scientifically. It is also concrete evidence of the student’s professional and vocational competence.

The mid-program internship gives students the opportunity to become familiar with the business environment and to develop professional work habits and a sense of organization and discipline in the workplace. This experience helps students take their first steps in applying what they have learned in class to practice. Students observe, analyze and perform one (or several) specific tasks at an enterprise, thereby being able to compare and evaluate theory against practice, with a focus on the knowledge of their field of study. Through the internship, students have the opportunity to explore their career interests and to identify the knowledge and skills they need to continue developing in order to achieve their future career goals.
