Pursuant to the Regulation on Undergraduate and College Education under the Credit-based System at Foreign Trade University (issued with Decision No. 409/QĐ-ĐHNT-QLĐT dated May 8, 2009, by the Rector of Foreign Trade University);
Pursuant to the Undergraduate Education Regulations of Foreign Trade University (issued with Decision No. 3188/QĐ-ĐHNT dated December 21, 2021, by the Rector of Foreign Trade University);
The University hereby announces the Mid-Term Internship Plan for undergraduate students at the Main Campus in Hanoi and the Quang Ninh Campus for the 2025–2026 academic year as follows:
1. Purpose:
The Mid-Term Internship is a compulsory component of several training programs and an annual activity organized by the University for all undergraduate students. Its aims are:
- To create opportunities for students to apply their accumulated academic knowledge to real-world practice; enabling students to experience business operations and practical work at organizations and institutions that align with their field of study;
- To help students clearly understand career paths and work areas post-graduation; and to consolidate essential knowledge and skills related to their major;
- To help students identify and address their knowledge and skill gaps so they can improve and build upon them in the remaining semesters at university;
- To allow students to accumulate practical experience and better prepare for their graduation project or thesis with higher efficiency.
2. Eligible Participants:
Students enrolled in undergraduate programs at the Main Campus (Hanoi) and Quang Ninh Campus, who:
- Are not currently under criminal investigation, suspended due to disciplinary reasons, on academic leave, or deferred;
- Have not yet completed the mid-term internship course;
For students from Cohort 59 and earlier:
- Must be in their third year, actively attending classes, and have earned at least 90 credits by the end of Semester 1 of the 2024–2025 academic year (excluding credits from Physical Education and National Defense Education courses).
For students from Cohort 60 onward:
- Must register for the internship based on the specific requirements of their respective training programs (detailed internship schedules per program are in the attached appendix).
3. Implementation Schedule:
3.1. General Regulations:
- Students must complete a minimum of 75 working hours at an organization or business (equivalent to at least 3 hours/day, 5 days/week, for a minimum of 5 weeks).
- At the end of the internship, students are required to submit a Mid-Term Internship Report, accompanied by:
- A written evaluation signed and stamped by an authorized person at the host organization;
- A document confirming assignment of duties at the host company (if available).

- Internship activities must not conflict with students’ registered class schedules.
- During the internship period, students must maintain regular communication and progress updates with their assigned academic supervisor.
3.2. Internship Periods:
Semester 1, Academic Year 2025–2026
- Batch 01 – Period 1: August 4, 2025 – October 12, 2025
- Batch 02 – Period 2: October 20, 2025 – December 28, 2025
Semester 2, Academic Year 2025–2026
- Batch 03 – Period 1: January 5, 2026 – March 29, 2026
- Batch 04 – Period 2: April 6, 2026 – June 28, 2026
Summer Term 2026 – Batch 05
- Period: June 29, 2026 – July 31, 2026
In all batches, students must conduct the internship and submit their report under the guidance of their assigned academic supervisor.
4. Registration and Implementation Process:
- Students register for the mid-term internship via their personal credit registration portal during the designated registration periods, following notifications and instructions from the Department of Undergraduate Studies.
- The Department of Undergraduate Studies will approve and publish the official list of eligible students and forward it to the respective Institutes/Faculties.
- Institutes/Faculties will assign academic supervisors for the eligible students.
- Students then carry out the internship and prepare their reports under the guidance of their assigned supervisors.
