1. Training objectives
General Objectives:
The overall goal of the International Political Economy training program is to cultivate high-quality human resources capable of developing into future leaders and managers; and experts in consulting, critiquing, and formulating socio-economic policies. Graduates of this program will possess a foundational understanding of economics, politics, and international relations; in-depth knowledge of contemporary international political economy issues to apply in analyzing and solving pressing organizational problems. The program also helps students develop critical thinking and strategic vision; basic skills in leadership and team management ; and the ability to identify and propose solutions to political economy problems . They possess proficient English skills , digital literacy , and innovative abilities ; have strong political and moral character , good health , and a high sense of responsibility and community service .
Specific Objectives:
PO1: To provide fundamental knowledge in the fields of economics, politics, and international relations so that learners can identify trends and relationships in economics and politics from the micro to the macro level;
PO2: To provide in-depth knowledge of important international political and economic issues shaping the present era and the policies of nations, enabling learners to explain political and economic phenomena and processes in the world;
PO3: Train political economy research skills related to production, distribution, and exchange processes in an integrated economy, enabling learners to apply this knowledge to improve practical situations and solve assigned tasks;
PO4: Train leadership and team management skills combined with critical thinking, and strategic vision, innovation in order to identify and propose solutions to economic and political problems .
PO5: Train strong political qualities, good morals and health, a high sense of responsibility, and a commitment to serving the community.
2. Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the International Political Economy program, students will be able to:
Regarding knowledge
PLO1: Able to apply foundational knowledge of political science, social sciences, and humanities to learning and work .
PLO2: Analyze economic, political, and social issues, as well as some national strategies and policies within the global system, based on interdisciplinary knowledge of international political economy.
PLO 3 : Assess the impact of international political and economic issues on the activities of national and international economic entities
Regarding skills
PLO 4: Combine critical thinking and political economy research skills with the production-distribution-exchange processes in an integrated economy to apply them to practical improvements and solve assigned tasks .
PLO 5: Demonstrate group management and leadership skills based on innovative thinking and strategic vision to identify and propose solutions to economic and political problems .
PLO 6: Achieve proficiency in English (Level 5/6 of the Vietnamese Foreign Language Proficiency Framework issued with Circular No. 01/2014/TT-BGDĐT dated January 24, 2014, of the Ministry of Education and Training);
PLO 7 : Achieve a 5/8 level in proficiency across the competency domains (data and information mining; communication and collaboration in the digital environment; digital content creation; safety) and a 4/8 level in the AI application competency domain of the Digital Competency Framework according to Circular No. 02/2025/TT0BGDĐT dated January 24, 2025, of the Ministry of Education and Training.
